Division Winner
Denver - 11-6
2025 Power Rank: 5th 2024 DVOA: 6th 2025 Schedule: 14th
Coach Payton navigated the Broncos cap issue & coached up rookie Nix to a surprising 10-win season. B/R has their defense #1 (#23 DVOA in '23) for '25 & FTN has the o-line #2. We graded their draft an "A-" where top draft pick CB Barron (Alabama) was a late 1st round steal joining the NFL's best in CB Surtain II. Our Power Rank has them a respectable 5th. The easiest schedule in the division & another good year from Nix could send them as far as the Super Bowl (25-1 odds).
2nd Place Finish
Kansas City 11-6
2025 Power Rank: 4th 2024 DVOA: 8th 2025 Schedule: 27th
The Chiefs 15-2 season is misleading as the 11th ranked offense struggled, saved by the defense as they were 12-0 in one-score games. The o-line, ranked 27th for '25 loses Pro Bowl G Thuney and the tackles are very questionable where they seemed to overpay for free agent Moore. Kelce is slowing down & the RB room a turnstile. WR Hill is a big add. We hit the Chiefs/Eagles bet (31-1) in '24 & it's hard to bet against the 7 straight AFC Champ game team but we bet the Bills vs Eagles 17-1 & Bills vs Rams 53-1 in the Super Bowl.
3rd Place Finish
Los Angeles - 10-7
2025 Power Rank: 10th 2024 DVOA: 9th 2025 Schedule: 15th
Harbaugh's 11-win season was impressive. The defense was #1 in scoring as they played Har-Ball rushing & controlling clock. An 11th ranked '24 offense was not explosive where the WR room was overhauled & rookie McConkey a star. Expect the same in '25 with the Harris/Hampton RB duo where run stud G Bechton was added to top end Slater/Alt at tackle forming FTN's 6th ranked line. Harbaugh's 2nd year is always his big jump in record improvement so we are optimistic but losing Left Tackle Slater for the year is a major problem.
4th Place Finish
Las Vegas - 6-11
2025 Power Rank: 25th 2024 DVOA: 27th 2025 Schedule: 18th
Coach Carroll wasted no time overhauling a 4-13 team's roster which finished 26th in defense & 29th in offense in '24. He added #1 pick RB Jenty & acquired pieces including QB Smigh, G Cappa to complement stars TE Bowers & T Miller. On defense Carroll has his work cut out for him where there is little talent beyond Pro Bowlers DE Crosby & DT Wilkens. There is little optimism here beyond Carroll's ability to coach up poor to mediocre talent which is what most of this roster is.
